Waste management in the state of Indiana is governed by the Indiana Department of Environmental Management. With the EPA’s approval, Indiana has been authorized to carry out the hazardous waste management provisions of the RCRA, enforce those laws, and create its own laws regarding waste management. These state-specific laws comply with those at the federal level, but they may be more intensive in some instances.
Due to the industries present in Indiana, the state has some waste management needs that are emphasized more than others:
Railcar cleanups:
Indiana is in the top ten states with the most miles of freight railroad tracks. Clean Management can sample groundwater, surface soil, and subsurface soil to determine the proper course of corrective action after railcar spills.
Trainer Training:
The auto manufacturing industry is still a significant part of Indiana’s economy. Clean Management can train personnel in OSHA-compliant operations.
